It’s funny, when I was younger I wanted to be a marine biologist. I love animals, I always have. As I got older, I realized I needed more math and science to pursue this dream. Unfortunately for me, I have always struggled with numbers. Realizing that, I just sort of dismissed this goal. I never really thought about that fact until now. Maybe it’s just me, but I think for most people, it’s safe to say that it’s easier to give up on what’s hard, or what doesn’t come naturally, and just play to your strenghts. That’s kind of depressing though, right? Because if you really think about it, how many success stories are made from just coasting through life?
This is not to say that I don’t love what I’m doing now—but it’s because it came easy to me, I felt good about it from the get-go, I never felt that I had to break through walls to get better. But, sometimes that’s what I think you need—to prove to yourself what you can truly accomplish.
